Returning to Direct Seeing
This week, I’m challenged to distinguish between the individual present and the narrative I attribute to them. My practice of devotion involves returning to my breath, my body, and the present moment. When I see my mind supplying the missing details, I halt myself. I glance once more. I will listen again and see the details in front of me.
A small ritual: soften, breathe, see. Not who I think they are—but who is here now.
